Summary
Lichenometric study of the Mendenhall Valley
area, Juneau, Alaska yielded no significant
correlation between lichen size and age. However,
growth curves determined for lichens
Rhizocarpon geographicum and Placopsis gelida
were almost identical, inferring an external
factor influencing our data collection or the
actual lichen growth rates themselves.
